Which bird should you buy?
The 450 R$ Leucistic Bald Eagle is the only pass that also unlocks in Village Survival; the 250 R$ ducks are the cheapest way to change your silhouette; the free birds play the same loop.
There is no strongest bird in Broodwing, because none of the six passes lists a stat change. What you are choosing between is a silhouette, a colour and, in one case, a second game. That makes "best" a question about what you want to look at and where you play, not about power.
The comparison
| Pass | Price (R$) | What it changes | Best if you... |
|---|---|---|---|
| Melanistic Duck | 250 | Dark duck | Want the cheapest change and a small profile |
| Leucistic Duck | 250 | White duck | Same, but you prefer pale birds |
| Melanistic Barn Owl | 350 | Dark barn owl | Play the featured bird and want it dark |
| Leucistic Barn Owl | 350 | White barn owl | Play the featured bird and want it pale |
| Leucistic Bald Eagle | 450 | White bald eagle | Play Village Survival too, or want the biggest bird |
| Black Swan | not shown | Black swan | Want the newest bird and can wait for a price |
By price
The store ladder is simple: ducks 250, owls 350, eagle 450. Price tracks bird size, not usefulness. A duck at 250 R$ flies the same loop as an eagle at 450 R$.
If you want the most change per Robux, the ducks win by definition - they are the cheapest. If you want the most content per Robux, the eagle wins because it unlocks in two games.
By role in a family
Families need hunters, guards and parents, and none of those jobs is bird-specific. What a bird does change is how visible you are and how you fit into a nest.
| Role | Bird that suits it | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Hunter over open water | Bald Eagle or Barn Owl | Big silhouette, long glide, easy to spot your own landing |
| Guard at the nest | Barn Owl | The pale variant disappears against a lit canopy edge |
| Waterline work | Duck | Small profile in the reeds, cheap to replace |
| Showing off | Black Swan | Newest bird, unmistakable colour |
That table is about how the birds read on screen, not about hidden stats. A duck guarding a nest is as good a guard as an eagle; it just looks different doing it.
The eagle's real advantage
The 450 R$ Leucistic Bald Eagle is the only pass with a cross-game unlock. Its description reads "THIS GAMEPASS ALSO WORKS IN VILLAGE SURVIVAL", the studio's other game, which had 130,706 visits at the 1 November snapshot.
If you play both games, that is two cosmetics for one price and the eagle is straightforwardly the best value. If you only play Broodwing, it is the most expensive colour in the store and nothing more.
The free option
Every bird in the game is playable without spending. The passes sell colour variants - leucistic and melanistic versions of the eagle, the owls and the ducks - plus the Black Swan, which has no visible price.
So the real answer to "which bird is best" for a new player is: the free one you are already playing. Spend a session as a barn owl, a session as a duck, and see which one you miss when you switch.
What a tier list would get wrong
A tier list would need numbers - damage, speed, stamina, growth rate. Broodwing's store does not publish any, and the pass descriptions are cosmetic names. Ranking the birds would mean inventing the numbers that make the ranking work.
What can be ranked honestly is value:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Cheapest cosmetic | 250 R$ (either duck) |
| Most content per Robux | Leucistic Bald Eagle, if you play Village Survival |
| Newest bird | Black Swan (31 October 2026) |
| Most colour choice | Barn Owl (two variants) |
| Free birds | Barn Owl, Bald Eagle, Duck |
A buying order that makes sense
- Play a week first. The free birds cover the whole loop, and you will know which silhouette you want.
- If you play Village Survival, buy the eagle. It is the only pass that crosses games.
- If you want a cheap change, buy a duck. 250 R$ for a full colour swap.
- If you main the featured bird, buy an owl. 350 R$ and two variants to choose from.
- Leave the swan until it has a price. It is the newest thing, not necessarily the right thing.
Where the numbers come from
Every price and date on this page comes from the Roblox game-passes API on 2026-11-01. The full table, including the Black Swan's empty price field, is on the game passes page; the dollar conversion is on prices in Robux; and the bird-by-bird detail is on the bird roster.
If you are still deciding whether to spend at all, the beginner guide is the better first read - a player who knows the loop gets more out of a free bird than a player who buys an eagle and cannot land it.
A note on the free birds
It is worth saying plainly that the free birds are not a trial version. The barn owl, the bald eagle and the duck all fly, hunt, nest and raise chicks; the passes sell colours of those birds, not access to the loop.
That makes "best bird" a question about taste and value rather than capability, which is exactly why this page compares prices and roles instead of ranking power. A player who never buys a pass is playing the same game as a player who owns all six.
