Bird roster
Barn Owl, Bald Eagle, Duck and Black Swan are the four birds with official evidence; the eagle, both owls and both ducks exist as colour-variant passes, and Black Swan arrived on 2026-10-31.
Four birds have official evidence in Broodwing: Barn Owl, Bald Eagle, Duck and Black Swan. That list comes from the game's own store and name field, not from a fan list - the passes name the eagle, both owls and both ducks, and the Black Swan pass appeared on 31 October. Anything beyond these four is not in the game's published material.
The roster at a glance

Barn Owl
The barn owl is the bird the game is currently named after: the Roblox listing reads "[BarnOwl] Broodwing", with the bracket tag rotating to whichever bird the developers are pushing that week. It is the bird in the official key art - the pale owl against the crescent moon - and it is the one most players will recognise from the icon.
Two colour variants exist, both at 350 R$: Melanistic (dark) and Leucistic (white), both released on 28 October. That makes the owl the middle of the store by price and the most developed bird by variant count alongside the duck.

Bald Eagle
The bald eagle is the prestige bird: its Leucistic variant is the most expensive pass in the game at 450 R$, it was the only pass available on launch day, and it is the only one with a cross-game note on its description.
That note is the reason to care: "THIS GAMEPASS ALSO WORKS IN VILLAGE SURVIVAL". If you play both of Realistics Studios' games, this is the only purchase that follows you between them. The cross-game page has the full quote and what Village Survival is.

Duck
The duck is the cheap bird: two variants at 250 R$ each, released together on 24 October, three days after launch. It is also the smallest silhouette in the roster, which matters more than it sounds - a duck can work the reeds and the shoreline in ways a bird with a two-metre wingspan cannot.
If you want to spend the least possible on a cosmetic, this is the entry point in the store.

Black Swan
The black swan is the newest bird, added on 31 October 2026 at 23:42, two minutes before the game's latest build. It is the only pass in the store without a visible price, and it is the only one whose arrival was not paired with a second variant.
Its existence is the clearest signal that the roster is still growing. The official description says "more birds coming soon", and the swan is what that looks like in practice: a single new bird, dropped late at night, with details still settling.
What the colour variants actually are
Leucistic means reduced pigmentation - the bird comes out white or pale. Melanistic means excess pigmentation - the bird comes out dark. Both are real terms from bird biology, and Broodwing uses them accurately.
What they are not is a power tier. None of the six pass descriptions mentions a stat, a speed change, a growth boost or an ability. A leucistic duck and a melanistic duck fly the same; the difference is what you see on screen and what other players see when you land next to them.
Which bird should you play?
That depends on what you want out of the session, and the best bird page goes through it properly. The short version:
- Barn owl if you want the bird the game is currently pushing and the widest choice of colours.
- Bald eagle if you play Village Survival too, or want the biggest silhouette in the valley.
- Duck if you want the cheapest change and a small, agile profile near the water.
- Black Swan if you want the newest thing, and you are willing to wait for the price to appear.
Free versus paid
The important distinction on this page is not which bird is best, it is which ones cost money. The four birds exist in the game; the passes sell colour variants of the eagle, the owls and the ducks, plus the swan itself.
| Category | Birds | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Base birds you can play | Barn Owl, Bald Eagle, Duck | Free |
| Colour variants sold as passes | Leucistic Bald Eagle, Melanistic and Leucistic Barn Owl, Melanistic and Leucistic Duck | 250 to 450 R$ |
| Birds with no visible price | Black Swan | Not shown on 2026-11-01 |
If you are deciding where to spend, the game passes page has the dated table and the prices page converts the total into dollars.
Switching birds
Once you own a variant, the bird is available in the game rather than locked to a session - the pass is an entitlement on your Roblox account, so it follows you between servers and between sessions. That also means the free birds never go away: you can play a barn owl today and a duck tomorrow without buying anything.
The practical consequence for a new player is that a pass is a permanent choice rather than a consumable. There is no rush to buy at launch week because the price is not going up, and there is no penalty for waiting until the Black Swan's price appears.
